WriteGirl envisions a world where all teens live, write, and speak boldly as they become inspiring, transformative leaders, driven to effect positive change in their communities and the world. Through WriteGirl, teens go on to careers in the arts, media, entertainment and more.

WriteGirl helps more than 500 teens each year, and WriteGirl has two decades of success in sending 100% of our Core Mentoring Program teens to college.

We need your help to continue our 100% success rate. Your donation gives us the staff and the resources we need to produce high-quality educational workshops and materials to inspire teens to succeed.

We launched WriteGirl in Los Angeles, and we are deeply committed to helping teens in the Los Angeles region. Read about our Los Angeles programs and partners.

Donation FAQ:

  • All donations support WriteGirl programs. To offer a sense of how your donation can make a difference, here are some examples:

    $25  Supports the publishing of our WriteGirl Planet digital activity workbook.

    $50  Provides training materials for one writing mentor.

    $100  Supports our 90-minute online writing workshops.

    $500  Matches one girl with her own weekly online writing mentor.

    $1,000  Provides 5 high school seniors with a year of intensive support applying to college, securing financial aid and navigating the transition to college.

    $5,000  Supports our writing and job skills development programs for incarcerated and systems-impacted teen girls and boys.

    $10,000  Helps sustain WriteGirl as a powerful force for change in our community.

  • WriteGirl is a project of Community Partners, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, EIN 95-4302067. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

  • Since WriteGirl is under the umbrella of Community Partners, which serves as our fiscal sponsor, Guidestar only lists Community Partners as the nonprofit entity. While Community Partners does not financially support WriteGirl, it provides a comprehensive suite of administrative services.

  • Many companies offer matching programs where your financial donation may be matched to some extent. Contact your company for details.

  • If you are considering giving a donation through your donor advised fund, please contact your fund administrator and request that funds be directed to Community Partners for WriteGirl. If a check will be issued, please mail them to the following address:

    If you would like to donate through a wire transfer, please reach out to WriteGirl to forward banking information to you. We would be happy to provide any additional information that your fund administrator requires.

  • If you are considering including WriteGirl in your estate planning, we recommend you reach out to us to gather the necessary information you might need. We are under fiscal sponsorship with Community Partners, a duly registered 501(c)(3) organization and your gift will be allocated to WriteGirl once it is received.

  • Yes! When you donate online, you have the option to include their email address and they will automatically receive a notification that a donation has been made in their honor. Or you could print out a special graphic once you make the donation, to stick it in an envelope or gift bag!
